Where Do Skin Moles Come From

So you've got a mole problem, or perhaps a gopher problem, and are searching for the best solution. Well, let me tell you, you have a daunting task at hand. Once you begin looking around for mole and gopher solutions, you will find that they are a plenty. In fact, there are so many, each promising to be an exacting solution that your head will be spinning after just a few minutes.

If you are like most people, you will purchase a few of the most popular products that promise to rid your yard of these pests with just a few shakes of these magic pellets, or possibly a quick spray of that magic mole repellent. Or perhaps you went for the worm-like mole bait or the mole gas bombs. Well, I can tell you that your results will be just like those thousands of other folks who are in your shoes, and still fighting the battle with their moles and/or gophers.

You see, the problem is that because moles and gophers create such a disaster in yards and gardens across this country and others, the producers of these fine products that don't work, see you as an easy target. I can tell you from experience because I also was once in your shoes. Note that I used the phrase "was once", because I am not any more. After spending hundreds of dollars each year trying to solve my mole dilemma, I finally devised a simple process that worked. Not only does it work, but it works every time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
where do skin tags come from?
those little rolly pieces of skin that are not moles.

    • ANSWER:
Cutaneous (skin)tags are very common benign skin growths that occur most often after midlife. The tags stick out of the skin, and may have a small narrow stalk connecting the skin bump to the surface of the skin. Cutaneous tags are usually painless and do not grow or change. However, they may be irritated from rubbing by clothing or other materials. Cutaneous skin tags are more common in people who are overweight or who have diabetes.

  2. QUESTION:
    Moles....?
Why and where do moles (on the skin) come from?

    • ANSWER:
Most moles are simply the result of a harmless proliferation of the pigment cells within the deeper layer of the skin.

Some are present throughout one's life whereas some develop over time.

  3. QUESTION:
Where did this brown dot/mole come from?!?
I looked in the mirror today and noticed a brown dot in the middle of my nose. I tried scratching it to see if it was a pimple or something but it's like IN my skin. What the heck is this, and how in the heck did I get it?

    • ANSWER:
Is it a raised bump? If it is, I'd get it checked out by a doctor/dermatologist if it doesn't go away in a week or two- it might just be some type of blackhead/clogged pore or something like that but moles that suddenly appear are a bad sign (they can be cancer or precancerous growths). They can usually get rid of them pretty easily but you should have it looked at.

It could also be a freckle?

If its just a clogged pore you might need to exfoliate more, if its a freckle or a mole its probably from sun exposure. Wear sunscreen every day whatever it is:)

  4. QUESTION:
Does this sound like skin cancer, breaking out in moles?
Hi there, I am developing very bad health anxiety lately, seems like I have had one health issue after another. I have not been feeling well, just now energy, tired, pains.. Anyway I am a 29 year old woman and cancer does run in my mothers family. I am not sure that anyone has had skin cancer but I am worried. 3 weeks ago I noticed that I got a few blood bubbles under my skin so I have been inspecting my skin everyday and I notice that I am breaking out in Moles. They start as little freckles I think or thats what they look like. I noticed 2 on my arm that were not there last week and some others also. I have a growth on the bottom of my left foot that looked like a mole but its not a circle and its raised. Its been there for a few years now. It has some brown in it but its not all the way brown. I also noticed a brown spot on the side of my big toe. I thought I got hurt or something but its just a brown spot. I have also noticed in the past couple of months that the I also have white spots on my body, looks like discoloration. I also have gotten in the past month a bunch of those raised brown skin things all over my chest! I have a growth on my neck that the doctor I seen yesterday said was a skin tag. I tried to tell her about the moles coming out of no where but she was very short with me and said yeah sooo, this happens as you get older, I dont think its anything to worry about. She gave me a referral to a dermatologist but said that I should wait until I have some insurance to go, meanwhile I am afraid! I dont know anything about skin cancer. The moles dont look funny, just like normal moles, I have 2 that are a bit raised but I have had them both for as long as I can remember. They weren't always raised but they were always there. I am just very afraid. I have one near my belly button and it must have been kind of raised because I scratched it and it almost came off, now its kind of hard. I also have 2 moles on my thighs that are small and black not far from each other. I do not spend a lot of time in the sun. I do smoke and I need to stop that or I will probably get lung cancer if I dont already have that too. Anyway has anyone had something like this happen to them? For the past few days I have been so SCARED that I cant sleep or even eat. Please any advice or help? I wonder if its to late if I do have it since they are coming up so fast?? I had blood work the other day and everything was normal with that. I have cat scans of my brain and abdomen and pelvis within the past few months that were normal also. Ok thank you in advance for reading my post. I know I seem like a paranoid crazy person but I am just really afraid. Thanks
A blood bubble, sorry the proper name is Petechiae, its not a mole or freckle its bleeding under the skin. Cancer does run in my moms family, 2 of my aunts, my great aunt, my sister, my grandmother, my grandmother, my grandfather, my mother has had a few tumors in breast and kidneys shes going for a bunch of testing and my brother had 2 brain tumors. I would say thats more then a couple of people. The doctor that I see was not there so I seen his nurse practicer and she was in a bad mood. She was very short and rude with me to say the least and she didnt really even bother to look.
Said my grandmother 2 times, should read great grandmother. I do not think that just because someone in my family has cancer that I do too its just that when you wake up and notice several new moles that were not there the day before its concerning. I know no one here can diagnose me and I am going to see a Dermatologist. Just was seeing if anyone had something similar happen to them. Thank you

  5. QUESTION:
Is it normal of "Dark Spot" where your mole was after skin Biopsy was done?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Has anyone ever had skin biopsy done with the mark of the mole still there, if so what did it come back as?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I went in for a skin cancer screening. Doctor took 2 biopsies on two spots but said he was more concerned of the mole on my upper stomach as it looks like melanoma. I would need to come back for a biopsy the next following week.

A-It looks just like a darker freckle than the rest on my body.
B-It’s not raised & smaller than pencil head etc.
C-If really that bad why wouldn’t he remove it that day along with rest?

So I went in for a 2nd opinion. The new doctor agreed with last doctor of signs of melanoma. Had her do a biopsy this week.

After thinking just a dark freckle and all this is kind of silly I took my band off and noticed a dark black spot in the same area where the mole was before the biopsy and surrounded around my freshly new white circle punch mark. My heart missed a beat, as my other moles did not look like this after the same kind of procedure.

1st Doctors visit came back as:
Squamous cell carcinoma- But no dark spot from biopsy.
Was diagnosed last week with it. Caught it early froze off area so should be good to go.

Seborrheic Keratoses- Biopsy same week for this mole. But no dark spot from biopsy.
Found out last week benign so good to go there.

Just waiting on the 3rd result

Your insight would be helpful and thanks a ton!

    • ANSWER:
I have had numerous mole biopsies. I never had punch biopsy so I will not address on how they are currently looking. The third mole they will have to cut deep and wide to ensure they clear margins for the pathology report. A good reference is about two to three times wider than the mole and a half of a pencil eraser deep. The doctor wasn't ready to perform the procedure. Good luck, the waiting for results is hard very hard.

  6. QUESTION:
Skin Tabs, what are they, are they bad, can I cut it off myself?
Another question I know the answer too (Go see a Doctor, have them remove it etc.) but I live in the world of No Health Insurance etc. A few years ago I was looking @ my back in the mirror and saw a small tab of skin about the size of a pencil eraser yet thinner sticking out of my back. It had never been there before. I have no major moles, no other tabs or major skin bumps and have generally clear skin. I ignored it for a bit, it didn't hurt, itch or change shape. After a while though it did seem to get a little longer and started to look gross. Just an ugly skin tab sticking out. Unfortunately i can barely reach it, i can only feel it for a brief moment, it has no feeling and seems to be hollow. Its just flabby, soft and gross. I showed my Mom, she said it was just a skin tab, I said, cut it off me, its gross. Just use an alcohol swab, a sterile blade and zing! all gone. Peroxide it and slap on a band aid. Of course she said no, see a Doctor which i cant afford. Its causing no health problems its just cosmetic. I talked a friend into doing it for me finally. I wouldn't think this is too dangerous. I bet that's exactly what a dermatologist would do but charge me 0 bucks. If we are careful and sterile I don't see a problem. I used to cut out a wart that would appear on my thumb when I was a teenager. After 3 tries it never came back after i dug in and got the root, plus last year in a numb drunken state I literally performed minor surgery on my chest and removed a small but annoying mole/raspberry/skin tab that had appeared and was getting harder and bigger. It came back affter a few months but as a much smaller and less noticeable light mole/bump. I bled a lot on that one though! Where are these moles, bumps, tabs coming from?? Its cuz im getting older. I noticed my Dad has developed some over his late years. Any info and suggestions (besides the obvious :-) Thanks.

  8. QUESTION:
What to do when adhesive from bandages causes the skin to be stretched out and irritated?
I got a few moles removed last week. One was on the groove of the inner thigh, right by the bikini line. I have to remove the bandage and replace it daily, but the adhesive from the bandages has really irritated my skin, causing it to be red, irritated, and it looks like some parts of the skin have been stretched out. Due to the area it's in, and the wound left behind from the mole being removed, I can't use a mere band-aid because it won't stay, and if it comes off, the wound will hurt ten times as much, so I need to use the heavy duty dressings that stay on. Yet, due to how badly it hurts, I've resorted to using a band-aid tonight, but since the area rubs against skin every time I take a step, I highly doubt the band-aid will stay on tomorrow, or even through the night while I'm asleep. Is there any way to tend to the irritated skin? And just to be a little clearer, it's the skin around the wound, where the adhesive of the dressing was, that is irritated, not the wound itself.

    • ANSWER:
When I was 20 years old, (many, many years ago), I suddenly developed an allergy to adhesives. They caused itching, redness and skin irritation in the area where they were applied.
One would think that over the years BandAids, surgical and medicated tapes, etc. would have evolved to be ALL hypo-allergenic. I recently learned the hard way that is not the case at all.
I suggest purchasing a new package of dressings that says hypo-allergenic somewhere on the package, or ask your Pharmacist for a recommendation. Also, if you can handle it, you might leave off the dressings at night so as to allow your skin to recover from the irritation.

  9. QUESTION:
how does a person get moles on their body?
how do moles form on the body/face? i have a few on my body, but they're not the ones that sticks out (literally) its just like a black dot

  10. QUESTION:
What are these on my shoulders?
As I've gotten older, which I'm almost 22, which isn't that old. But as time has gone on, I have gotten these little skin colored bumps all over my neck and back across my shoulders and some down my stomach. As time goes on, it seems that I get more and more. They don't hurt and they're not itchy. I just don't know where they came from or what they are. Does anybody have any idea? Maybe skin colored moles? But that many?

    • ANSWER:
Are they sort of springy if you poke them and they take on a round sort of shape? If so that's probably the same thing my friend has, and he's in his late twenties.

I don't know what they are called, but they're pretty harmless. You can get them removed if they bug you (a doctor can freeze and lance them without too much fuss). They're pretty common on people with fair skin and blond hair apparently.... They're supposedly from exposure to the sun, so I guess the could be prevented with more sunscreen.

That is, if they are the same thing as I am thinking of.

  11. QUESTION:
What should I do about my fathers skin condition?
Hello. Well I'm not quite sure where to start. There has been so much paper trail and no medical attention or treatment. This happened about 3 years ago, my father had a mole on his neck and scratched it. Later on when he came in from work that night, after he had a shower, it began to throb. He went to the mirror and saw that it was hanging so he clipped it off. He had some crusty pallets in his ear that was uncomfortable to touch. Well, as time has gone by it has developed into a condition that has eaten a hole as big as a quarter all the way through his ear and where once was a mole is now a large mass (larger than my hand) of tissue where once was skin. This condition has spiraled. It drains, bleeds, or seeps creamy fluid. This never dries because it is on the cavity of neck so where he turns his head from side to side or catches on his shirt it cracks or begans to seep drainage or blood.
He has lost at least 65-80 lbs. His appetite has decreased. He is always in pain. He has unknown chest pains, headaches, and he is always tired. He has been 3 to 4 times hospitalized for what we thought might have been heart attacks. He now has some colored spots coming up on his back, a small crusty spot on his nose, and his other ear has become infested with these crusty pallets. He was given a prescription by the hospital back when this first happened to treat this as a open wound (cephelaxin). My father was not able to take these pills because it made him very sick and he started to vomit. My father has lately started to show signs of other problems that may or may not be related to this condition. However, I am very scared that before he will get medical attention he will die. I have contacted all the resources available in his county and mine and still has not been eligible for assistance to be seen to be diagnosed or start some type of treatment to get him back to a normal state. There is so much more that involves paper work processes, denial after denial, and just no customer relations are available to help me. I have on several occassions asked for help through the social security representative and he has no answers to any questions, very impatient, rude, tells me all that he can do is have me go online and request more applications or reconsiderations or appeals and he can forward this to Austin. The hospital turned him away when we had a referral to come back as a outpatient for his neck to be examined, some tests run and cleaned by surgeon. The doctor is no longer there and the hospital has been recently seen on the local news of considerations of closing down due to bankruptcy. I am so afraid that I am going to lose my father before he is heard or seen to be determined eligibility for benefits. This condition is starting to ear my fathers ear off away from his face.

I know that this is very sporatic so please feel free to ask me any questions. You are certainly welcome to contact me by email.

I do have pics to show the changes or progress of what this condition has done from one visit to the next. If you would like to see them I will be happy to attach them as an email for you. Thank you for taking this time out to listen to my cry.

    Desperate,

    Jennifer

My father lives in Wills Point, Texas and I live in Ennis, Texas.

    • ANSWER:
Oh dear, Jennifer, I too think this sounds like skin cancer (although I am NOT a doctor), since my own father had it too. How appalling that the hospital turned him away. He must get treatment urgently. There must be SOME kind of medical care available in the world's wealthiest country.....

How about contacting your local Congressman or woman? Or else go to the media. "Sixty Minutes" ought to be interested.

You are a wonderful, caring daughter and I wish you and your family all the best of luck.

  12. QUESTION:
Boyfriend has throbbing headachearound same spot where he got a skin biopsy?
In May or April, my boyfriend, who is 19 years old, had a skin biopsy on the back of his headto remove a mole that was not cancerous. I am not sure if he's had pain before then, but SINCE that biopsy has happened he said the throbbing has increased around that spot. Is that normal? Or should we be concerned that it is something else? He said it is only in one area, not around the whole head, and that it feels like it is coming from the inside.

He doesn't have any insurance right now and we would like to know what to do.
Thanks for the advice. He's concerned about this because his mother had him on her health care plan, but dropped him because she refuses to pay for it, and won't put him back on again. He wants to get a brain scan done, but she doesn't think it's serious and wont put him back on her plan. It's worrying him, so I decided to find out if it's something he should see the doctor for. Thanks for your answer.

    • ANSWER:
April is a very long time for an area that was biopsied to still be causing problems. Is it possible he might have a sub-dermal cyst in the same area that is infected and causing him pain? If so this would be a chronic infection that will need lancing by a Dr and probably antibiotics before the pain is relieved. This should only involve one Dr appt. at urgent care so his cost will be about a hundred bucks or less. Go and get the area looked at by a Dr.

A biopsy taken from the skin would have nothing to do with a potential brain cancer or tumor so the location of the pain is just a coincidence. Maybe the biopsy turned a hair inwards and this is now inflamed?

  13. QUESTION:
mole - skin cancer or no?
I am eager to know if I have a normal mole(s), or a mole that could be cancerous. First off, I am 15 years old. I have a slightly raised mole, or what could also be a freckle by the look of it, on my face. I have had this as long as I can remember. From the cancer signs I have seen on the internet, it looks okay. As I got older, sometime before I was in 5th grade (I can't remember), I started to get 2 more small and slightly raised freckles or moles. Something important to add is that the main one that I have had (the one that I have had as long as i can remember), I have picked at, and eventually got to the point where it scabbed and came off. After some time it grew back to practically how it was before, and if anything definitely not smaller. To add, it bled in that area when I did that. Is this some sign of cancer? Also, I have a couple small moles, or at least freckle looking on my stomach, and I think that I have always had these, but can't remember.
edit: I forgot to add, should I get all my moles checked out to be safe? And I have been thinking about talking about it with my parents but I feel kind of embarrassed.

    • ANSWER:
if you ever pick at moles, or they come off or they bleed you should ALWAYS get them checked out..

whats there to be embaressed about pal, its only moles, its not like your talking about sex problems lol.. just ask your parents, can i go to the doctors to get this checked out.. or just ask them if they think its all healthy.. trust me.. just do it.. its better to be on the safe side

      goodluck :)

  14. QUESTION:
White dead tissue after mole removal, how can I stop it scaring?
I just had a mole on the side of my nose removed by electrocautery a few days ago. I was given a dressing to help prevent scaring which works by keeping the wound from forming a scab.

I took the dressing off to change it and noticed that the skin where the mole was and a little around it had gone all white and soft. A little of the tissue came away while I was cleaning the wound and it seems that all that white tissue is dead. The white stuff that came away round the edges left pink skin underneath and I can see that the white tissue where the mole was goes even deeper and it really looks like the whole thing is going to scar quite badly. I am very worried about this as I was told this wouldn't happen. I had the mole removed for cosmetic reasons and would be very upset if I swapped a mole for a deep scar.

What can I do to help the situation?

    • ANSWER:
Just do exactly what the doctor told you to and don't worry about it, it'll heal right! Don't let it dry out though. It takes a while for wounds to heal, just be patient and do exactly what you were told, and everything will be fine eventually

  15. QUESTION:
Metal taste on lips, tounge, skin?
Hi, I'm 19, female, i'd say i'm quite healthy and eat well, I do however suffer with depression and anxiety and well as echzema/dry/itchy skin.

For the past 8 months or so i've had a metallic taste in my mouth that makes my mouth water. It tastes like i'm sucking a copper penny all the time, and my lips sometimes taste of metal aswell especially the bottom lip. My boyfriend said that he could taste the metal on my lips but didn't know where it was coming from. He also said my leg tastes of metal in a certian spot!

Everyone always comments on how sickly and tired i look and my grandmother is anemic. I'm always tired, and i think anemia could be a possibility, but would this cause the taste?

I'm on no medication whatsoever, i've had ONE single beta blocker which was wrongly prescribed to me and one ephedrine pill just before the taste started.

    I'm 100% not pregnant either as i have taken several tests. Periods are irregular though but have bein since i was younger. I've had a few new moles and was concerned maybe it's skin cancer but my doctor took a look and said they looked normal, but i was wondering if the metallic taste is either;
    - depression
    - anxiety
    - skin cancer
    - anemia

I've also noticed some of my body hair is almost plain white! It's really freaky, i'm dark haired and pale skinned.

    Advice?
And the more i notice the taste the worst it gets. When i start worrying about it it gets stronger.. starting to think i might be going mad!
And the more i notice the taste the worst it gets. When i start worrying about it it gets stronger.. starting to think i might be going mad!
I've gained a little weight too since it started. Could it be to do with my thyroid?

  16. QUESTION:
what causes this and is their anyway to get rid of them or stop them from forming?
I just turned 50. I recently discovered what appears to be a mole. It is a piece of fatty tissue that is about a 1/2 long and brownish pink in color. It appears to be hanging just by a small piece of skin. It is located on my mid-section of my body and its ugly.
Don't know where it came from, and have what looks like another one starting to grow near it. Does anyone know what they are and is their something that causes them? Is their a vitamin or some remedy to get rid of them? I have had malignant melanoma in the past and had many moles removed, but none looked like this.

  17. QUESTION:
    What is a mole?
I mean the ones on your skin. Where do they come from? (i mean benign ones, not cancerous) are they just extra pigment, or is it the same as a birth mark? Oh ya: whats a birth mark, also?

    • ANSWER:
They are little black pigmented skin parts that are closely connected to each other to form a black dot. It is a result of extra pigment in that area.

You can go to Wikipedia.com and type in mole or birthmark for more info.

  18. QUESTION:
Removed mole Scab came off early Open wound HELP ME PLEASEE!!!?
Hello! I bought some liquid mole remover off of ebay. and when i got the product i started using it right away on 2 moles on my face. One on my cheek and another on my ear, i used the liquid for about 5 days until i felt a scab where the mole was at. I stopped applying the liquid and applied some Band-Aid Antibacterial clear cream. for about 2-3 days the scab still didnt fall off, i still started to apply the cream. and moved on with my day.

Yestarday when i got out of the shower, i brushed my cheek with the towel i was using to dry off, and the scab came off with some white plasma!!! I saw in the mirror and there was this small open wound on my face! it looks like a crater! its not bleeding its just there, and open wound. I put some Band-Aid anti bacterial cream on it as soon as i saw!

this morning i had class and i looked again in the mirror and it didnt go away! a small puncture wound on my face. i put some more bandaid stuff on the wound and prayed that it'll go down (so it wont look like a crater fell from the sky and hit my face) and then i read online that applying vitamin E to the wound makes it beter and grows skin. the only thing i had that was vitamin E was a face cream that read Vitamin E in big letters on the front label. I applied that and the redness is down but it still looks like a wound :(

Please!! how can i cure this? the mole on my ear didnt become a crater! : nor did it fall off! -.- Im soo self conscious now I regret trying to remove the mole!

    • ANSWER:
It will heal just as any wound or cut will heal, but it will take time. Keep it clean, cover it with a bandaid if you are self conscious about it, use antibiotic ointment if you think it might be getting infected. If it does get infected, see your doctor. To remove moles you really should see your doctor and not try to do it yourself.

    • ANSWER:
yes your grammar is hard to read, and I cant remember the question, but you have already seen a dermatologist (skin expert) and they have said they are harmless moles, could be you have a skin parasite now. If a Dr said you are fine then there is nothing anyone here can say to reassure you. Go back to the Dr. And spray insecticide in all your rooms, wash your bedclothes or move house!

  20. QUESTION:
I think I have skin cancer.?
I heard from one of my teachers that if your mole has changed colors then you might have skin cancer.

So then I decided that I would look up symptoms online.

And I noticed that I have some of the symptoms.

Mole changing color, continuous rashes on my back, shoulders, ears, hands, neck and big shiny and fat bumps on my face.

At first before I knew about skin cancer symptoms I had 2 bumps on my face. At first I thought it was a pimple but it didn't have a head and it was gigantic, shiny, and it hurt a lot when I would touch it.
I then decided to poke it with a needle and try and squeeze what was inside of it out. LOTS of blood came out and a little white stuff came out as well.
It then came back right under where it first was and I popped that one as well.
I have been putting on lotions and creams to help my rashes. The lotions and creams to be exact are Aveeno Intense Relief repair cream (Jar) and Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion. Also, I use a prescripted cream(s) called Elidel 100g and Actavis - Triamcinoclone Acetonide 15g.

I heard from my doctor that Asthma has something to do with my rashes.

Does anything like not getting enough sleep, not showering daily (weekends), stress??? Have anything to do with it??

Any help on what I should do?
I heard I can die from skin cancer.
    Please Help me!

  21. QUESTION:
My boyfriend has skin colored bumps on the bottom of his penis almost like mole or wart looking?
I have been with my boyfriend for a year and a half and he got checked when we started dating, I was a virgin. Due to certain health issues from my past I have to get pap smears and STD tests every two months and it has always been normal. There are multiple bumps some look like moles some like warts surrounding the base pubic area where the penis attaches. He says they do not hurt, itch or spread they are just there. The strange thing is they appeared after we started having sex. Once again, I was a virgin he was tested. What could these bumps be? Anything to worry about if they are not spreading on him or to me? Multiple tests on my end have shown no results. I have been tested for everything including HPV and warts and nothing has come up?
I did go with him when he got tested, I was in the room and there when he got the results. He spends a lot of time with me and the rest of his time with my best friend (who is a guy). I know for a fact he has not been with anyone else. My question is if they are harmful why have they not been passed to me? And why do they not bother him and have not for over a year now?

    • ANSWER:
It's time for him to swallow his pride and see a doctor. If these bumps are truly nothing to worry about, then his getting checked out will give you peace of mind. On the other hand, if the bumps ARE indicative of a problem, you both need to know what the problem is and what treatments are needed, and you need to know NOW before it grows into a really really big problem.

  22. QUESTION:
Holey Moley ! What is that and is it right ?
    1. Should it be Holy Mole instead ? or perhaps Hole Mole ?
    2. Where does this expression come from ? Brown spot on a person's skin/animal etc. and why ?
    2. What does this expression mean ?
    3. How old is it ?
    4. Is it American or British English ?
    5. Isn't it slightly more humorous that for example 's h i t' ?
    5. Any other interesting fact you know about this expression ?
Not too many questions, which shouldn't require too long answers either.

    • ANSWER:
You have spelled it correctly in the question.

It comes from the rhyming ness, and the fact that it stands in for something like Holy Gd, which would be considered swearing in many societies. NOTHING to do with animals or skin blemishes.

It's at least a century old. It probably isn't found written before around 1800, but that's just a guess. May have been used verbally earlier. I THINK it's American.

      It's milder than s h i t.

Also: Holy Moses! Holy Sh*t, Holy Cr*p! and my favorite, from the comic strip "Heart of the City" Holy Shamoley! etc.

Mild exclamation - standing in for cursewords.

  23. QUESTION:
What should I do about my fathers condition?

    Desperate,

    Jennifer

    • ANSWER:
      Jennifer

I can see why you are frustrated and upset.

Have you ever walked into your father's local government representative with your father, the photos, the paperwork and demand something be done for him? If not, now would be the time to do so (especially with an election coming).

Sometimes going straight to the top can get results. Just make sure you have all the information with you, people you have spoken with (name, #, title, when, etc).

As well, have you ever spoken to any advocates? There are non profit organizations that exist that sometimes will have people advocate for you. Call about... one will exist somewhere.

If you really want to ruffle some feathers, and its okay with your dad... contact the local media. Sometimes telling a story on the news or in a newspaper gets people moving.

Lastly, I really wouldn't recommend sending photos and information about your dad to Yahoo users. A lot of information can come from that and frankly, this is the internet. I'd be afraid of a scam or someone claiming to be something they are not.

I wish I could be of more help and wish you and your dad luck.

  24. QUESTION:
when I was little , we weren't allowed to object to or question anything...?
Then people began to take their ability to gripe to new levels. Now everyone has a bandwagon and we are all offending them. From the way I was raised, not speaking up...I just don't understand where the shift was and where all this power came from. It seems like if I am offended, I'm told to shut up.

One time, I was wearing a dress and a boy yanked it over my head just to embarrass me. I was told to shut up. It was my problem. If that happened to anyone else, they would sue.

Where does this "I'm offended" thing have a base? I think some of the things on my mind would be reasonable to be offended by.

One time, I was making a joke about the moles on MY skin. And a black guy said he was offended because his color was the same color of my moles. I said "These are the spots where my coffee leaks out." I don't understand why I can't make a joke about myself and how he could be offended. He and I were very good friends so I just brushed it off and changed the subject.
I'm Southrn Baptist. In my house, we were not allowed to question or speak up. I am not saying all Southern Baptists are exactly like my family.

    • ANSWER:
Interesting. Well i have always believed in speaking up so i would say speak your mind. I dont know where it comes from but I get the feeling it might come from religion, to train you not to speak up against things that seem obviously wrong. Just my guess, but doesnt seem you have to conform to it. Speak your mind and worse come to worse, you wave the first amendment.
btw i added you because you sound very smart :)

  26. QUESTION:
    Should I try Melanotan II?
I heard about this new product that can help you protect yourself from getting skin cancer and also darkens your skin even without exposure to the sun but works very well with little exposure and gives you that sort of brown look all year long! . I'm a young girl and where i live there is no sun what so ever for about 6 months out of 12. I only get about 3 months of summer where i can actually tan. Right now i have been tanning outside now that the sun is out with a few sessions at the tanning salon and I am really tanned and it looks like i just came back from vacation. Both my parents are Italian & I have skin that tans quickly, i do not burn ever and my body is tanned all year even if i do not expose myself to the sun however the parts that are more exposed like my legs and face become pale. I really like having a little glow of sun that looks natural on my face in the winter time but i do not want to expose myself to the sun by going on vacation too much to get tanned or tanning beds. Therefore, should i try this new product called melanotan II and use it in the winter and summer? In winter to cut down on vacations and tanning beds and in summer to cut down on sun exposure as well but still get my desired deep dark tan...
There are no risky side effects, the only side effect that I wouldn't be able to deal with is moles that appeared for some people. Is this true? has anyone else used melanotan II with my type of skin and got moles? Moles are really gross to me and i really wouldn't like ending up with a bunch of unwanted moles on my body just for a tan.

    • ANSWER:
I was looking into melanotan II a little while ago for sun protection and dug up some alarming information.

No side effects? I'm not sure what you have been reading but I have read of people getting new freckles all over their bodies, in one case behind their eyes, concerns of melanoma, extreme nausea and headaches.

If that wasn't enough, the drug isn't approved anywhere for use in humans, so whoever you buy it from is producing in under sub-standard conditions. The risk on contamination is very high and you'll be injecting god knows what into your body.

This is an Australian talk show discussing melanotan and its dangers only 2 weeks ago:
      http://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunrise/video/-/watch/25320643/tan-drug-danger/

Here is an article from Norway of a man who believes that melanotan II put him in a coma, this was only last month:
      http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=no&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nettavisen.no%2Fnyheter%2Farticle3136468.ece

Stick with spray tans. There is no safe way to tan.

  27. QUESTION:
Getting rid of red spot on face after mole removal with Apple Cider Vinegar?
During the summer I tried to remove a mole with apple cider vinegar. The site where I got the idea from said to drench a cotton ball in ACV and leave it on over night. I did this for about three nights. The skin started to die and come off. In its place was a big bright red mark (I'm assuming a burn) that won't fade. It's been on there for about 6 months now and shows no signs of fading. Any ideas on what I should do? I've tried vitamin E cream, but that doesn't seem to work. Is there anything that makes old skin die and regrow?

    • ANSWER:
Moles are often judged by the ABCD mnemonic.

      A: Is it assymetrical?

      B. Are the borders irregular?

C: What is the color? Different shades within a mole are suspicious
Different shades of brown, or black. blue, red and white are all of a concern

D: What is the diameter? Greater than 6 mm should be checked

      E: Is it elevated?

However, basically, any CHANGE in a mole is to be of concern and should be checked by a doctor.

  29. QUESTION:
What are the small wart/scab like things on my little sister's wrist?
My little sister has an odd rash type something on the fore of her wrist, almost perfectly centered. It has been around for about 3-4 days now and she claims to have NO idea where it came from (she pinky promised, but from her age that is something serious to her). According to her, she found it when she woke up. It (was) four raised, stiff spot in a diamond shape, with a reddish/purple/black color. It wasn't crusted over though, they looked like part of the skin. Now she has a 5th mole in the center and a 6th on forming on the outside. The forming one is white with the small dark colored spot in the very center. It was swollen last night, and now the area around it is slightly purple in color. It is not causing her any sort of pain unless it is touched roughly, and she has not had any sort of allergic reaction to it except for the faint coloring around it. My parents have no idea what it is. They won't take her to a doctor, I am assuming, because they believe that she was messing around with things she wasn't supposed to be doing/using. It is possible that she did, but she has never lied to me and I have NO idea what could have given her a STILL developing mark!

Could somebody please tell me what this is?!

    • ANSWER:
There are so many different causes of rashes that it is very difficult to narrow down any specific cause of one, especially without being able to see it. Common categories of rash are:

scaly patches of skin not caused by infection,
scaly patches of skin produced by fungal or bacterial infection,
red, itchy bumps or patches over the body, such as on the chest and back.

Although rashes are seldom dangerous, self-diagnosis is not usually a good idea. Proper evaluation of a skin rash requires a visit to a doctor or other health-care professional. Check this site for good information and you may be able to figure out what is going on.

  30. QUESTION:
I found a block dot on my arm about 4 days ago, what is it ?
---IT'S A LITTLE LONG, BUT PLEASE HEAR ME OUT. PLEASE.---

4 Days ago I was in class and I noticed a small dot on my arm (around where my arm bends) I'm not sure why but I got a little scared and automatically thought it was some form of skin Cancer. Because it looked a very small, normal and non-malignant mole. It also looked like a blackhead so I tried pinching it (not that hard) and nothing happened. So I left it alone. The next day I got more freaked it out and these thought of skin cancer popped in my head (the black dot didn't really changed) Now it was just a little pink around it, but I think that was because of me pinching it. It didn't hurt or anything. Now, the next day, it wasn't looking like a mole anymore. It looked more like a bug bite. To be honest, it looked harmless. But the thoughts and fear I had the days before made me worried and doubtful. Everybody I showed told me it wasn't anything and to not worry. Later that night I showed my cousin and she just shook her head, because she said there was no way that it's skin cancer. She then told me it looked like a blackhead and pinched it. It didn't do anything. My skin just got red ('cause it just got pinched -.-) It still looked less like a mole, and looked more like dried up blood in my skin, or a bug bite. On the fourth day when I woke up, it wasn't as red around the black dot (so it only got red 'cause it was pinched not because something bad was happening) I keep thinking to myself that maybe I'm just paranoid and getting scared over nothing. Because then I was fearful of things that were completely irrelevant to my arm. Again, later that day I showed my brother in law. He told me it looked like a mosquito bite when I asked him, what it looked like. He also automatically showed me his arm, and said he got bit by them too. They looked like black dots bigger than mine, and those dots on his arm actually looked like regular sized moles. He showed me two, the other one was smaller. I was a little bit more calm, but not completely. Anyways, today was the 5th day. When I woke up this morning, it wasn't red anymore, the redness faded away. with the same little black dot that still seems small and less like cancer. When I was in one of my classes I kept on scratching at the little dot because it looked like it was about to come off. After I scratched once really hard, the black "dot" came off and I peeled my skin a little. I started freaking out ! I didn't know what to think. Was this a good thing or a bad thing ? So many thoughts were running through my head. I kept on trying to make myself believe that if it was cancer it wouldn't have just came off like that. A couple of minutes later I went to lunch and asked one of my friends ( a very smart kid) if I can just take off my mole by simply scratching it off. He replied no. And I explained to him basically everything I just explained to whoever is reading this. He still said it isn't serious. I still was unsure. About 2 hours and 30 minutes later. I was in another class and I looked so scared and depressed even my classmates noticed. These fearful thoughts were stuck in my head. At this point on my arm, where the black dot used to be, it just looked like a small but deep scratch. An hour later I noticed a very small dot where the small wound is. It looks like the period after this sentence. <---- like that. Again I'm probably just over reacting, because I'm so scared. Not only that my parents are scared to. Not because of the dot, but because they are convinced that it is nothing and I'm still scared. I told my parents to take me to the doctor to make sure, but they just looked sad and told me to believe them, that it is nothing. At this very moment, my arm looks like its healing from a very small but deep scratch. I no longer see the black dot I thought I saw a couple of hours ago. Its just a little pink, because of the scratch. Deep down I'm sure it is probably nothing at all. But my fear and negative thoughts have increased since the first day. Its probably all in my head, but the doubt won't let me forget it. The scratch wound seems to have healed a little since the last time I saw it about 2 hours ago, and especially since I scratched at the black dot, about 4 hours ago. I keep thinking to myself, what if I would've just left it alone ? Its too late for that. But what do you guys think it is ? Give me your thoughts, please.

    Hi

About two years ago a mole appeared on my arm... Being a moron I picked it off so it did not remain any more.. It has grown back. It is not very big... it is about the size of this 'o'

Im worried about it and have got an appointment with a derm on monday.

It has grown back strangly as it is grown where the skin has been scarred (from where I picked it off)

I dont know if it looks bad or is dangerous but im quite scared about it.

It has a few hairs coming out of it.. It looks like that all the hair folicals in that area have chosen to grow through it.

Here is a pic, please tell me what you think..

    thanks

Unless the base of the mole has been surgically removed, they will always come back. Having a dermatologist look at it is wise but go ahead and have the dermatologist remove the mole entirely so you don't have to worry about it any more.

  32. QUESTION:
I am having serious internal problems. I think my pancreas is messed up.?
My left nut is hurting, my left kidney is burning, my pancreas is hurting right under the edge of my left rib. I don't have insurance and when I go to the Doctor (of which I have to pay cash and can't just keep going back over and over again) they wont listen to what I have to say. Matter of fact they say I am nuts because I say I can feel pain in my organs. They actually said there is no way I can feel my pancreas. I agree in general that I probably cant but when it is hurting like it is now I sure can feel it. Here is how it started. First my left nut started to hurt. I thought maybe I have nut cancer so I felt my nut and nothing is growing so I don't know what to think next. Then my right nut started to hurt also and my kidneys started to burn around the same time. My grandad died from his kidneys failing do to high blood pressure when he was about 65. I am 41 almost 42. So my kidneys are burned really bad everyday for about 4 or 5 months and then my blood pressure was really high at 167/95. I was having shooting pains down my left arm and left side of my neck so I went to the emergence room because I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I went to the emergency room and they did their stuff. They hooked me up to machines and took blood and urine work. After about two hours of setting there they took about 3 more tubes of blood. About an hour later the Doc came in and said I was not going to have a heart attack today and the x-rays showed my lungs were fine and healthy with no fluid build up. He said I had the beginning stages of type 1 diabetes and he gave me a prescription of Atenolol for my high blood pressure and he cute me loose and told me to do a follow up. I had no money for a follow up but I did get the blood pressure meds and have been on them for the last 5 months. About 2 months latter I paid cash for a single doctor visit and he took my symptoms and told me to bring him my emergency room paperwork and he would look at them. I did and a few weeks later he called me back and said I had enzymes in my liver and he wants me to come back and do some more urine test and the such. He asked if I drank I and I let him know I do NOT drink and I have not had a drink since I was 26 which was 15 years ago. He said it looks like I drink a lot or that it may be hepatitis of some type and he needs me to test some more. I have no money for it so I have blown it off. Where I am at now is my left kidney still burns and so does my left nut. Right under the edge of my left rib I have a really strange pain. On occasion I have stomach pains but not that much anymore. I know its my pancreas because in the past I have felt shooting pains from my left back shooting thru to the front in the pancreas area. I also have some back pains on the left side and when I lean forward it goes away a little. I feel the key to finding out what is wrong with me with out me spending a lot of money which I don’t have is to explain why my nipples have a brown scab type of things growing on them. Its like my nipples have a scab all over them. My skin is also getting a lot of little nubs growing. In the last 2 or 3 years I have had about 5 or 6 little nubs pop up. They are not moles but just little flat skin mess-ups. Is that skin cancer or something? I don’t know, any thoughts would be helpful.

  34. QUESTION:
    Please Help! Mature only?
Ok about 4 years ago I went to the GYNO and she told me I had warts. She did a pap and gave me a prescription. They never called
and confirmed that is what I had. Anyway I used the cream they gave me and they went away. At the time of my apt. she also told me that had a skin tag on my inner thigh. So the bumps have come back but not bad. I have tried using a regular wart remover and it helps a little but not all the way. Is there a chance that they are not warts? I do get small moles on my neck when I wear a necklace and where I have the bumps on my butt is exactly where my thong rubs. also the bumps that are there look just like the skin tag that is on my thigh. and there is no way that the tag onmy thigh is anything else it has been there for years long before I ever had sex. If this is warts is there anything that WORKS to remove them besides the cream from the Dr. I do not have health insurance and there is no way I can afford it. When I got it filled before it was like 0.00. Any ideas?
Also there is nothing onthr inside. never was just on the outside. I know if it is warts they will probably always come back. just looking for any ideas on how to tell if it is warts since mydr. never called me back. And if there is anything other than a prescprition that will get rid of them. also I have had paps since with a diffrent dr. and they never asid anything about HPV or anything.

      ---
i suggest you get a second opinion. and i know there is a Planned Parenthood somewhere in the city. they are a free clinic and will give you what you need based on your income. the most u have to pay is for your visit.
      ---
from your additional information it sounds like hair bumps. my dr told me the best thing to do is to keep the area dry and not wear tight clothes. thongs included. they carry bacteria from the anal area to the vaginal area as well. so be careful of that

  35. QUESTION:
    Need help Mature only please?
Any ideas?

    • ANSWER:
You will need to get the correct medication.

Second, you need to continue your annual pap because you are in a higher risk group for cervical cancer. The pap will find any problems early. Visit with your GYN at your earliest convenience.

  36. QUESTION:
list these in order please! TWILIGHT!!!!?
Continuity: The second time Bella is in the hospital, the oxygen tubing switches between over top of her eyes and away from her eyes.

Continuity: When Edward drops Bella off at the police station on the way back from Port Angeles, she doesn't have her bag, which contained the book she picked up from the book store that she uses later on to research the "cold ones".

Revealing mistakes: When Charlie gives Bella the mace, he hands her a green can. Green cans are inert, and used for training.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Vampires sparkle when exposed in the sun. When Edward and Bella come to school, he is wearing sunglasses, which would not be necessary if he was trying to avoid the sun. However, it's clear he is wearing them as a fashion accessory. Additionally, the sunglasses would play tricks on the eyes, making people think the sunglasses make their skin seem paler, because of the contrast, which is also why the Cullens usually wear some form of dark clothing.

Continuity: When Bella confronts Edward in the forest, the flap on his right shoulder of his jacket is buttoned down, then unbuttoned, then buttoned again.

Continuity: When Edward is telling Bella how much he could hurt her, his hand on the tree goes from being flat against it, to resting on his fingers and back again.

Revealing mistakes: In the cafeteria, when Bella drops the apple and Edward catches it, he has visible pit stains. Vampires don't sweat.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Bella is confronting Edward about being a vampire, there are what appears to be visible bite marks on the left side of his neck. However, these are moles, not bite marks.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: There's a scene where Edward and Bella are talking in the forest, it's raining heavily and they are soaking wet. Soon after they are shown talking in another forest location, and appear to be completely dry. This could, however, indicate the passage of time, especially given their change of clothes. It is therefore assumed that their conversation takes place over several days.

Continuity: Vampires do not change at all, ever. Yet Edward has varying degrees of stubble throughout the film.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the garage, Edward asks Rosalie and Esme to put on Bella's clothing to mislead the tracker. Edward throws clothes towards Esme. Esme was in the scene for quite a while, getting stuff in the background. She was just out of frame when he addressed her.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the garage, Rosalie and Emmett put their belongings in Emmett's jeep and get in. In the next shot, the jeep is no longer in the garage, and Rosalie's convertible and Carlisle's Mercedes are driving off. However, the jeep hasn't left the garage, it's just out of frame in the next shot. Esme takes Rosalie's convertible, which is why it leaves at the same time as Carlisle's Mercedes.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Edward says in the movie that vampires never sleep. When Bella wakes up in the hospital, he appears to be sleeping. He was pretending to sleep in order to appear normal, and to give Bella and her mom privacy to talk.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the very last scene, Victoria turns to leave the balcony overlooking the gazebo where Bella and Edward are dancing, with her hair tied up. As the camera cuts to her leaving down the stairs, her hair is flowing behind her. Victoria pulled out her hair pin at the top of the stairs.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene where Bella goes to the ballet studio to give herself up for her mother, James the vampire is visible in all of the mirrors. As the legend goes, vampires' reflections are not supposed to be seen in mirrors. Yet both the movie and books often diverge from traditional vampiric legends, such as mirror reflections, burning in sunlight, wooden stakes, repelling from crosses, and so on.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Charlie takes Bella to her room, you see three naked Barbies: one on her desk under the bulletin board, and two are on the wall behind her, near the bulletin board. As the movie progresses, they disappear. As Bella makes the room her own, she is going to move things around, including the Barbies.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After Edward saves Bella from the car crash, she overhears him, Carlisle, and Rosalie talking in the hospital. Vampires usually talk so fast and low that human ears cannot understand them, but they can also talk slowly and quietly. They were talking "human" because other people were around.

Continuity: Throughout the film, dark roots appear and disappear from Rosalie's hair.

Continuity: When Bella confronts Edward, her red book bag on the left of the screen seems to flip and move around in different shots.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: James, Laurent and Victoria not noticing the fact Bella was human when they first arrived at the baseball field. Not only would they smell

  37. QUESTION:
What would be the best sunless tanning product for me to use (I'm a male)?
I had a bunch of questions about sunless tanning. I apologize ahead of time for the VERY long question, but I've talked to a bunch of people, tried reading a bunch online, and only ended up super confused at the end.

There are so many types and brands of sunless tanning that I have no idea which one to choose.
I'm really looking for something that will meet all of these criteria:

    - not streak
    - not look (too) orange
    - let me change the color more or less subtley, so that I don't come into work just brown (or brown orange) the next day, something so it looks like I'm getting tanner GRADUALLY on the weekends and after work or something
    - the less often I have to apply it the better
    - more or less easy to use (I don't use hours and hours a week on the process)
    - something for the face AND body (even if its 2 different lotions, I need something for each)
    - something that won't stain my clothes after initial drying period
    - something that won't start coming off in pieces
    - something that won't look womanly (no sparkles and shimmers plllllzzz)
    - I also attend the gym regularly and excersise so something that won't come off easily from excersise and showering and stuff.....
    - something I can apply on parts of my body I don't shave and it would actually make a significant difference (legs I think is only part that's hairy)
    - most importantly something that will work for me and make me look good and tanned.

I have probably between type I and type II skin, meaning I have that Eastern European mixed with small part German kinda palish to medium skin that freckles on face and shoulders from being out in the sun (and small ones sometimes on body but no moles or big freckles), however I'm not like a red head or anything, like I get a decent tan when I'm in the sun for several days straight, and it comes out like kinda reddish but kinda bronzish as well, it's weird though, usually fades fairly quickly. Tanning beds do not work for me at all for some reason, only natural sun. I've heard going to salons where they spray you down is not too great either cause its a very dramatic change and many people turn really orange, plus I heard that stuff comes off all on your clothes and in the shower. I would like something that can help me keep tan even with my pretty busy schedule (we can't all chill at the beach all the time :) ) .

So basically that describes the product I am looking for.

    Thank you!

  38. QUESTION:
    Melanoma cancer questions?
My mom had several moles removed on her back and stomach a few weeks ago. Doctors called and said it is melanoma. She's had blood work done and a CT SCAN (i think that's what it's called). Doctor called again today to say that it's "attached" and in her stomach. They are still waiting for the blood work to come back. To kind of calm my nerves between now and the time she goes in for final results and a "where to go from here" with the doctors, I have a few questions:

    1. What do you think they mean by "attached"?
    2. What stage do you think she is most likely in if it's attached in her stomach.
    3. What will the blood work tell us?
    4. I know melanoma is the worst of all skin cancers, but how likely is it that she would die from this?

    Any help would be great!

    • ANSWER:
I assume when you say stomach you mean the skin over her abdomen and not the organ "stomach"...

      1) Likely means they have not completely removed it, it went deeper (invaded) than the biopsy got
      2) Can't determine staging with this little information. She could have three separate lesions, or could have already spread. Were all "moles" melanoma, or just one?
      3) Probably not much, though if liver tests or LDH are abnormal could suggest metastatic disease
      4) Depends on the staging..

      Blessings

  39. QUESTION:
Donald Trump on Celebrity Apprentice (4/18) - who does he think he is?!?
Just because you're rich, doesn't mean you can walk all over people and be a completely rude idiot, but Donald Trump just doesn't get it. He lives in his own fantasy world where you can do and say whatever you want.
If you watched last night's episode, you know that Donald started talking about being a "skin man" - that he pays attention and judges women on the condition of their skin. Why that even came up is beyond me? When he mentioned it, however, he not only insulted the female country singer, Emily West, whose skin was the first called into question, but then Donald said OUT OF NOWHERE that Maria (Maria Kanellis, one of the Celebrity participants) should get her mole removed from her chin (or chest)! And it didn't seem like he was joking when he said it. I kept rewinding that part in absolute shock and awe. Unfortunately, Maria just laughed after the comment was made. I wish one of these Celebrities, whether it be in one of their short confessional interviews or straight to Donald's face, would stand up and say something like, "Why are you such a jerk?" "Look at you - you're the worst looking person in this Boardroom - who are you to judge ANYONE???". You never hear any bad comments about Donald from the participants in either The Celebrity Apprentice or the regular version. I understand that desperate nobody hopefuls idolize Trump and are his groupies and would never think badly of him for a second, but these Celebrities can say whatever they want about him and they don't. I would have ripped him apart if I were Maria. Why would he say something like that?! I just can't get over it! He has no etiquette when it comes to women. I wonder if he would have made that comment if Ivanka were in the room? What do you think?
And why are guys so weird when it comes to beauty (men's or women's)??? Honestly. Are they SO worried about being considered "gay" or whatever that they can't admit when another man is attractive? Or can they honestly not see or not know when another man is attractive? I'm serious - I want to know the real answer to this. Women can say other women are attractive without anyone blinking an eye. Women know what's attractive - people, art, clothes, nature, etc. I thought everyone had that capacity, but maybe I've been wrong in my assumptions. I don't care what anyone looks like - we were all made different for a reason. Variety is the spice of life, right? But does Donald honestly not know that he's the least attractive person in the Boardroom? Do Brett and Goldberg honestly not know that they're less attractive than Curtis? Is it something men know, but don't talk about? Or is it that they HONEST to GOD can't tell if another man is attractive? And if that's the case - WHY??? I bring this up because of Donald looking at the male country singer's promo pack and saying something like, "I guess he's an attractive guy. I don't know. Men aren't my thing."
I just shake my head at some of the things men say. Donald has to remember, however, that he's on a TV show where millions of people are watching his every move and listening to his every word. I'm assuming he thinks he's invincible because of his money, but he is sorely mistaken. I wish more people would talk about his obvious misogyny.
PLEASE tell me someone heard what he said to Maria! He told her to get her mole removed!

    • ANSWER:
I so agree! That was such a jerky thing to say. Both the skin comment about Emily West and the one directed towards that guy about not being a skin man like it's an insult. Donald insults himself by looking so shallow.

I also kept rewinding that part about the mole...because I just couldn't believe how coldly mean he could be and think that because he runs the show he could insult anybody's looks like that. She should have given him a mean glace at least. I would have come out and said that was uncalled for and mean and he should apologize.

He is the ugliest person in the room and has to wrap his hair around twice to look like a total twit that wraps his hair around twice like we think he has hair. "WE ALL KNOW YOU DON'T HAVE HAIR...GET OVER IT TRUMP". Jeesh!!! He talks about being tough...he can't even face the world without his weird hair frump. "THE TRUMP FRUMP".

Oh...and the statement..."I guess he's an attractive guy. I don't know. Men aren't my thing." is usually stated by men who are on the fencepost. Always a big giveaway! Donald Trump is way too much involved in a females looks to compensate for something else. He tries way too hard to look macho in a really sick way. He's either on the fencepost or losing something else along with his hair. And he is not in anyway the model of male attractiveness. Weak chin, very unattractive nasty mouth (yuck...not kissable in any way), tiny lifeless eyes, not chiselled in any way shape or form. Stupid hair. So unmanly...he has to bully his way to look somewhat pathetically male. I laugh every time I see him. And his son...OMG...he is even more pathetically scrawny and boring looking.

The Donald may have money...but absolutely no class!!!

  40. QUESTION:
very red bump on upper thigh?
i've had it for a while now...but i've only just noticed it because its started to get worse. at first it just looked like a really weird mole, and now its become very a very red bump and its red all around it too and its always had a black dot in the middle. just recently i squeezed it to see what would happen so i squeezed it and white stuff came out and then i went to the bathroom and squeezed it some more and the black dot squeezed out! turns out it was the size of a small pebble. its black and hard and i cannot believe it was actually in my skin! so now its still a red bump slightly raised still hurts when i touch it and a hole in the middle from where the black dot came out. how do i heal this now? thanks

    • ANSWER:
That sounds painful and kinda gross. Hopefully it was just a blackhead and an infected one at that. You'll want to keep that area clean and try some Polysporin then cover it. See if it gets better after a day or two, but go to a doctor in any case. That's just what I would do.

    Summer Chimes and Summer Wines----http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/summer-chimes-and-summer-wines/

    Listening to the summer chimes,
Of summer sounds of summer time,
    Bringing all that nature is,
    That shows and sounds like,
    Summer chimes,

    Chimes of soft winds,
    Chimes of soft river streams,
Sounds that say of that time and season,
That summer time sounds so sweet,
It rings the sounds of summer chimes,
With rays of sunlight streaming by,

    Summer chimes with summer wines,
Can be the momentum interludes of summer times,
When summer time is to be,
    There in natures places,
Full of bloom and hidden places,
    Where,
    Listening to the summer chimes,
    Of summer time,
    And sitting and drinking,
    A summer wine,

    With the summer chimes,
    And summer wines,
With summer and its nature sounds,
    Bringing out the musical chimes,
    Of summer sounds,
    Along with summer chance,
And the per chance that evolves,
    Bringing summer chimes,
    With summer wines,
    Of true summer chance,
    With love intwined,
    And summer wine,

    So if per chance,
    To meet again,
    That evolves and begins,
    From summer meets,
    Bringing that summer chance,
    To summer chimes,
    With summer wines,
    That begins and lasts,
Within in the hearts of those,
    That let per chance happen,
    And fall in love,

Then it will continue all year long,
For those that took the chance,
    In summer chance,
    And let the per chance,
    Take it course,
    And win,
    For love to hear,
    The summer chimes,
    Sipping summer wine.

  43. QUESTION:
Do I have OCD or am I just crazy?
Well, to start, I'm 18. Just the other day, I was talking to my friend on the phone about his foster brother. He told me that his foster brother has OCD and then explained all the symptoms. To my amazement, I could relate to a lot of the things he mentioned. All along, I thought I was either just too much of a perfectionist, oversensitive, paranoid or just had bizarre thoughts that no one else had. Here are some examples:

    1) When I go to my room/the washroom, I always lock the door. After sitting down for a while, I'll unlock it and relock it. In my head, I'll think of what the door knob looks like when it's unlocked and when it's locked to confirm.
    2) I'm always paranoid about leaving things behind. When I leave a desk at school or a bench in public, I always look under to make sure I didn't forget anything. And then on the way out, I'll keep looking back just to make sure.
    3) On my arms, my hair is evenly spread out, but if there's one of those stray hairs that's a lot thicker and longer, I have to remove it. If I see someone else with one of those hairs, especially on a mole, I have the urge to remove it or ask them to remove it.
    4) This one is one of the weirdest ones... Whenever I write something (not type something), if the last word has two or three letters and I have to write it on the next line, I'll also write the second last word of the sentence on the next line because it feels like a word with two or three letters is weak and will get lonely on its own on the next line.
    5) I don't do this as much as when I was younger, but it occasionally comes up. Whenever I look at a digital clock, I think of every possible mathematical equation there is. For example, if it's 6:51, I'll think in my head 1+5=6, 5+1=6 and so on..

Similarly, when there are two people/things with different features, I have to compare them in my head. For example, there's a person with blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin and another person with brown hair, brown eyes and darker skin. I'll think "okay, so person #1 has blonde hair and person #2 has brown hair". I'll continue listing the features. And because there were 6 features, I have to do the comparisons 6 times. If I screw up the order once or I stutter, I have to start from the beginning. I still vaguely remember when I was 14, I kept screwing up one of these comparisons and it took me half an hour before I was finished and satisfied. =
    6) Whenever I watch something online, especially with subtitles, if I miss a single, insignificant word/sentence like "go" or "it's not", I have to go back to make sure I know what was said.
    7) Whenever someone says something, I'll analyze it as if it were written on paper. For example, if someone says, "hello, how are you?", I have this strange habit where I'll actually think "hello comma how are you?". I only do this for commas though.
    8) Whenever I'm alone and I try to translate something into another language for the fun of it and it turns out difficult to say, I won't stop trying to say it until I can say it without stuttering.
    9) On a lot of final exams I did in high school, teachers would put a sticker with academic information on the exam. If the sticker wasn't placed exactly in its allotted space, I would remove it and redo it. Similarly, I always make sure all my paper is neatly stacked with no corners sticking out, especially in my binder. It bothers me when I see people with binders with paper sticking out in every direction.
    10) Before bed sometimes, while I'm still awake, I visualize things, such as myself flying. A lot of the times when I'm imagining these things, something will happen, like I'll be flying over a fence really fast and my leg will get caught and break. Then I'd just restart the image and the fence incident would happen over and over again up to the point where I'd get fed up and try not to think about it.
    11) Lastly, I've read that this is VERY typical of OCD, but again, I thought I was just being paranoid. Well, in Chinese culture, the number 4 is an unlucky number. For some reason, even though I'm not even Chinese nor do I follow Chinese culture, I always try to avoid it. For example, I won't order anything on a menu with the number 4 in it. I avoided getting the number 4 in my phone number when changing it. If there's some kind of buffet, I will carefully select the amount of food I get to ensure that I don't get 4 of anything.

Well, I really don't know.. those are most of the things I could think of. Is this typical of OCD or am I just a strange person? Does anyone else share similar thoughts?

My apologies for the enormous wall of text I just typed. Thanks in advance!

  44. QUESTION:
Could this be HPV or Blocked Hair Follicle?
I like to shave the base of my penis right before the scrotum and i recently did it bout 3 weeks ago. About a week ago i noticed a raised bump down there about 1 mm in diameter skin colored with a hair sticking out of it. I pulled the hair from out of it thinking it was ingrown hair and left it alone. 2 Weeks have passed and its still there. I don't know if this is a mole or wart. If its a wart and i have HPV is where the wart is at is that where i came in contact with the virus is it just one bump not in clusters like it looks on google, if it is why hasnt it spread.
I recently created a ointment with apple cider vinegar and crushed vitamin c tablets which has making the bump sting like a mother fucker the bump has decreased in size.
