How to get rid of pink scars from mole removal?
I used this on flat moles on my face. I regret doing it now. It looked better with the flat moles. Sure they're gone now, but what if left is pink marks and are bigger than the moles. It's been 7 months. I hate it so much. I've been wasting money buying stuff to make it go away, but nothing seems to work. Please help me. It's pink and and they change from pink to red. It depends on things. Like when I shower it will be red or if I'm out in the sun, but I wear sunblock for it. When I feel like its going away when its like light pink then it changes to red. Theres no indention, but it kinda looks like it does. The indention isn't big at all or deep, but it might be a very small slight indention. Does that mean I'm red for life?! • ANSWER:
I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
      Here is a link :
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradeniti...
If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.
Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!
I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

Advice about scarring from mole removal?
I am going to have a couple of moles removed from my face and was wondering about the scarring after wards. I would be paying a lot of money and was just wondering if anyone had had this procedure and could tell me about their scarring? Also, does anyone know of any cosmetic surgery's in particular that are good?

    Scarring from mole removal?

I am looking for a picture of what the scar MAY look like according to the description i gave. This picture can be from you or the internet, I just can't seem to find one. If you can't find a picture, then just a description is fine. Will a scar fade after time? Will it be more visible than the mole? Will there even be a scar? Thank you.

    • ANSWER:
I have a mole like that too, and went to the dermatologist to get it removed.
      She said:
Yes there will be a scar.
It will be a (rope?) scar. Pretty much a thick pinkish line with dashes. (sorta like a pirate scar haha)
It will be more obvious than the mole.
Over time it will stretch and become MORE noticeable.
This only MIGHT happen...but it's what my doctor said.

  18. QUESTION:
Why won't this scar from a mole removal go away?
Hi, about a half or so a year ago, I went in to a dermatologist and had 3 small moles removed from my cheek. The doctor had me come back again and dug deeper(I guess to remove any melanin cells remaining) on one of the moles. She said within a few months, all would heal well, and eventually, any trace of the scars would go away. However, it's been half a year, and there is this pink colored scar on my cheek that is even more noticeable than the mole was itself. The reason I had them removed in the first place was because they were noticeable and lowered my self-esteem. Now I have this pink crater on the side of my face. I was going through pictures the other night and looking back, I would much rather have my moles back than have these pink scars. What can I do from here? I've tried scar cream, but it doesn't seem to be working either.
I am currently using the Mederma cream. Also, can scars be lasered off? We originally planned on having the moles lasered, but the doctor suckered us into having them razored off so they could be sent in to the path lab "just in case."

    • ANSWER:
it can take years for facial scars to fade, and they never entirely go away. Your dermatologist lied if she told you anything different.

  19. QUESTION:
Is it possible to reduce the scarring from face mole removal?
I've had a couple of moles on face removed by cautery (i.e burnin off) and have been left with oval white scars which are slightly indented. Is there any way in which the scars can be made to reach skin level and aslo look like surrounding skin?

    • ANSWER:
try rubbing those little vitamin e capsules over the affected areas and see if that helps. Also look in the health and beauty aisle, usually there are products there that reduce the appearance of scars. I think cocoa oil is the active ingredient that helps repair skin. Don't quote me on that though.

  20. QUESTION:
What kind of scar will I get from a mole removal?
I am getting 3 moles removed on Friday because my Dr thinks they could be cancerous. One is on my back, one on my thigh and one on my chest. The one on my chest is the only one i am worried about. I really like where it is, and everyone says its sexy so I am very upset about this. What kind of scar will be left there? Its about the size of a pencil eraser. The Dr is cutting it out not lasering.

    • ANSWER:
If you keep it moist with ointment/vaseline and bandaged, there should be barely any scar.

  21. QUESTION:
I am having stitches out from mole removal in 4 days, what should i expect to see?
I have had 3 moles removed from my face and would like to know what the scars are going to intitially look like and how noticeable they will be. How soon can i cover them with make up? Does anyone know how much silicone gel sheets are?

    • ANSWER:
It depends on the stitches and how good the surgeon was, as well as your genetic make up. Are you predisposed to keloid scarring. If not, then you can expect to have just a very small scar in a few months time with small and almost invisible points where the stitches were.

Initially it will be quite visible, you probably don't want to put anything on it for cosmetic reasons at this stage, aside from what your doctor prescribes - ask him or her for ointment to reduce scarring - absolutely nothing you could get over the counter will be as effective.

    • ANSWER:
Everyone heals differently for scars. You may develop a keloid from having a mole removed, or the scar may be so small that it won't. Everyone is different. Does mederma really work for scars?
This is a product that's supposed to reduce the appearance of scars. I'd like to use it on a scar from a mole removal, and on some light scars on my face from acne. I need to know if it's worth the investment.

    • ANSWER:
Yes. It does work--and quite well. It did in my case, anyhow. I used it to reduce the look of a scar in a melanoma removal spot. It worked so well, I can't tell that the skin ever had a scar. I also used it on a scar I got four years earlier from falling off a bike, and Mederma greatly lessened its appearance. I talked with my dermatologist before buying it, and he said that the newer the scar is, the more effective the Mederma will be.

  30. QUESTION:
Old scar (1 and a half years old) from mole removal surgery has suddenly started to hurt?
I had a mole removal surgery done on a big mole on my face which left a raised pink scar on my face (which, admittedly, sucks but is better than a big black mound on my face). It hasn't been much of a problem until last Saturday when after a shower I noticed it hurting when I touched it. It feels like it's throbbing, and it's not just the surface scar skin. When I eat something hot I feel a sharp pain in the gum right below the scar (it's close to the mouth). What could be wrong with it?
    -.-
I'm too poor to go to the dermatologist though

Usually your doctor will discuss all possible risk factors and recovery issues with you prior to performing any procedure. If he didn't, or you didn't sign a consent form that you understood the risks, then you may have a case. Many lawyers will take such cases for free if there is merit behind them, and give you at least a phone call to discuss the issues.

    Scabbing from mole removal problems.?
    Hello,

    The situation is this:

I got a mole removal on my hand to remove this mole that was deep within my skin.

For 2 weeks, I covered it with a bandage and it healed up. It still left a black looking thing on my hand.

I got another mole removal to remove it.

This time, I left it out in open air and it formed a scab. However, the scab fell off prematurely and now I'm left with a very dark pink flesh looking hole on my hand.

Will a new scab form or is this permanently a scar?

How can i remove scars caused by mole removal?
I removed 2 moles about 3-4 years ago. They were not cancerous but i wanted to remove them because they were getting bigger and did not look to pretty. I would be happy that they are removed but it left ugly scars. I have tried bio-oil, vitamin E capsules, cream from my dermatologist that is to remove scars but they have no worked, maybe only a little bit. I do not know why, but these 2 scars really bother me and make me self conscious and make me not want to wear tank tops and dresses. I have asked my dermatologist a couple of times what my options are for the scar, and he said that the i could go to a plastic surgeon and he could cut out my scar which would make a smaller scar, but he said that he thinks i would not heal good because i didn't heal how i was expected with the original mole removal procedure. Then he just said to give it time: l Time is not going to heal my scars. They are the same color as my skin but not the same texture as my skin. BRAND NEW DIY MOLE VANISH WART REMOVER
10 ML Skin Care non-Laser Removal

      Usage:
      (1) Clean the nevus and the area around it, use a toothpick (do not use a cotton stick to tip or wipe) to mix the liquid and sediment, and then tip a little amount of the mole remover and apply it onto the middle of the nevus. The area would turn to white colour after 1 minute. Use alcohol or water to clean the mole area after 10 minutes (If you tip the amount of mole remover properly, you don't have to clean). The mole would peel off (May help with finger) in 8 to 20 days. Repeat the process again until the mole peeling off if the colour of the nevus is dark. (it is suggested applying the liquid to nevus on hands or legs first to see the results and learn to control the usage before applying the liquid to other areas of the body, DON'T TRY on FACE for the first time!)

  40. QUESTION:
    Mole removal without scarring?
A plastic surgeon will remove 4 moles from my face next week (the dangerous moles), and I'm scared that it will result in big nasty scars. My friend had this surgery two years ago. A surgeon said that the scar will fade with time, but it's still here... And it's a big keloidal scar. It really looks horrible. Is it possible to remove a mole without scarring?

    • ANSWER:
Depends on how good your surgeon is. I had one on my upper lip removed and had no scar at all, never even knew it was there. One on my wrist did scar but it is not horrible. One on my lower back did not scar either.

My demetologist says he doesnt think any of them work, and people had reccommended pure vitamin E to me, but he says he has found this to actually make the scar worse on some patients!

I was just wondering has any scar treatment like bio-oil or mederma worked for anyone else's scars?

    • ANSWER:
i have used bio-oil in the past and it is really effective. However when you stop using it because it has improved i found after time they did start to return, so i would recommend using it at least once a week even when the scar is gone.

  45. QUESTION:
Mole Removal Scar, its ugly help me!!?
I had a mole removed from my back a couple years ago, and since the mole had a white ring around it (I know, scary, cancer?) my doctor seriously took a huge piece of my skin out.

Its completely healed, flat, but still a little pinkish and was wondering how I can turn that scar into my normal Caucasian (white) skin color?

    • ANSWER:
Try to buy some scar creams. Or even try getting a sun tan,.. maybe it will even out with you skin.

Or if nothing works.. even if your a guy or girl... buy some concealer of your skin color and put some on it..

If nothing works use other options..
      try of getting a tattoo where that is so its not noticable :}

or just leave it. its another story to tell :]

  46. QUESTION:
Want to get a mole from the side of my chin removed, will it be worth it with a scar?
Hey so I have this mole on my chin, its larger than your average freckle and sticks out a bit. The worst part of it is that hair grows from it faster than the rest of my face so it always looks rediculous. And yea, people have commented on it sometimes. I went to a dermatologist and they said it could be done, but there would be a visual permanent scar there afterwards. Would the scar be worse than the mole is now (the mole is noticeable, its so easy to see in pictures and stuff). And are there any pictures of said scar I can see, from any past mole removal?

    • ANSWER:
the bigger the mole the larger the scar however scars are definitely less noticeable then moles are. and the scar is not going to that large. most times it sort of blends in with you skin and people only notice it if you point it out. also scars are very easy to hide with makeup. my brother had a large mole removed and the scar has all but disappeared now and it only took a few months. nobody noticed the scar either since it was so small.

  47. QUESTION:

  48. QUESTION:
Carrying on from the other mole question: Urgent please help regarding mole removal?
I've asked a question similar before but, I have a mole right on the crease above my lip and underneath my nose.
Its unsightly but not terrible. Its about medium sized.
I absolutely hate it and I am very self concious when it comes to my looks. I've spent nearly £500 on makeups that claim they work when in actual fact they dont. I have requested refunds but they have all said no. :(
I desperately want it removing, if possible laser surgery because it is supposed to have less scarring.
I'd prefer to have a scar than a mole, but different people keep telling me there oppinion, some say, yeah its fine you may get a tiny scar but after a while it will heal, like mine, and so on, and so many people say there mole removal has been successful, but some people say they have ended up worse off, and that they have developed keloid scarring, its gone infected and horrible and i'm stuck on what to do.
I am pretty desperate because i get very down because of it.
What should I do? HELP! xxxx

    • ANSWER:
Have you been to the GP about it or spoken to anyone else? Some GP surgeries offer wart and mole removal using liquid nitrogen (freezing). It can take a few treatments and there can be a bit of pain and swelling but eventually the mole falls off. I had a large mole on my chin which was removed this way in 3 treatments. I have a white mark where the mole was but not a scar as such, and it's much better than having a mole.

I don't know anything about laser treatment, but if you do a search for a SK:N clinic in your area, they offer laser treatment for moles. Their site says it costs at least £299 though :(

  50. QUESTION:
Should I give up on life and eat whatever I want?
I've been skinny my whole life but always ate healthy...I'm still ugly though because I have ugly skin (acne scars, keretosis pilarisis, rosacea, scarred pores, indents, rolling scars, half mole/half raised scar, sebum lump, moles, freckles, scars from mole removal, curling iron burn).

All the asian girls I see at the grocery store have flawless white skin. I don't think it's possible to get rid of all my skin problems and have new fresh skin re-grow...So should I just give up and eat Indian food and chinese orange chicken and rice with sweet and sour sauce...and just stay ugly forever?

Should I use food to make me happy since I'm not attractive anyways?
I DONT HAVE PIMPLES. acne scars are not pimples
