Get Rid Of Skin Tags

It's often said that the best things in life are free. In the case of natural remedies for skin tags removal, this is most definitely true. There are many methods to clear up your skin if you suffer from skin tags, mites, warts and/or moles that can be perfectly natural as well as extremely beneficial. This article will go into detail on how to remove skin tags naturally so you don't have to worry about buying expensive potions or investing in surgery.

1. The first tip to remember when you're trying to figure out how to remove skin tags naturally is that you must always take care of your skin preemptively. Use body washes that are high in vitamin E oil, as this will rejuvenate your skin and keep skin tags from growing in the first place. What a lot of people don't realize is that a skin tag, or almost any dermatological growth, for that matter, is caused by having unhealthy skin. Sometimes it's genetics, but more often than not if you're looking for how to remove skin tags naturally, you will find the answer is to prevent them from cropping up by seeking vitamin E heavy foods and oils that keep your skin healthy.

2. So what are some natural remedies for skin tag removal that aren't based in preventatives? There are two closely associated tricks that involve placing something over the skin tag- the "band-aid" method and the "duct tape" method. In each method you will be able to get rid of skin tags in a specified area by covering it with a band-aid or a piece of duct tape. The limited moisture and exposure to other minerals (like Vitamin D from the sun, for example) will inhibit the growth of the skin tag. If you're lucky enough (or you continuously apply this method) you will be able to rip your skin tag away with the band-aid or duct tape. This is one of the best ways to remove skin tags at home because of its versatility and lack of expense. If you can afford a roll of duct tape and/or some band-aids, you can implement this process quickly and without worry of truly dangerous reprucussions. For a little extra kick to the skin tag's proverbial but, you can soak the tag in Vitamin E oil before putting the band-aid or duct tape over it.

3. The final method in this article on how to remove skin tags naturally may not be the faint of heart- it involves cutting your own body. Don't worry, you won't be stabbing yourself in the heart or anything nearly that dangerous, instead, you simply need to find the skin tag and, using nail clippers that are sterilized (dip them in alcohol or run them over a flame for a few seconds- or do both, starting with the flame and then moving on to the alcohol- to sterilize), remove it. Clip from the base of the tag and then discard it, sterilizing the wound with rubbing alcohol afterwards as well. Be sure you put a band-aid over the injury and avoid touching it as the virus causing your skin problems may still be active enough to reoccur.

I hope you enjoyed learning how to remove skin tags naturally, but if these methods don't seem to be working for you then you may want to invest in more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of skin tags on my neck?
I have skin tags around my neck. It is very embarrassing. I have to keep them covered with shirts that are high enough to cover them. I would like to cut my hair short but I can't because of my skin tags. I have long hair which also covers my skin tags. Can someone help me with this? How do I get rid of them?

    • ANSWER:
Tie a piece of thread around them very tightly and leave it - they'll fall off on their own after a week or two. You should really get them removed by a doctor, but the thread method works just fine too.

  2. QUESTION:
How to get rid of skin tags without leaving a scar?
I need to get rid of my skin tags and read about several products, but I am afraid it would leave a scar. Is this true?

    • ANSWER:
My mom had her doctor slice them off with a scalpel. No scars, or even scabs. No anesthesia, but she said its not painful at all. She compared it to tweezing your eyebrows.

  3. QUESTION:
How can you get rid of skin tags and prevent it?
hi my mom has alot of skin tags(bumpy black moles) on her neck and face. how can we get rid of this in a natural way? any home remedies?

    • ANSWER:
Doctors often remove skin tags by tying sterilized surgical string around the base (as close to the skin as possible) and as tight as possible. It cuts off circulation, and the extra skin falls off a few days later. There is a short time of discomfort, as the nerves are dying in the small area, but it's not horrible. Tylenol can help.

However, i would suggest that she see a doctor to verify that these are not cancerous prior to trying to remove them yourself. Discolored skin can be a sign of pre-cancerous growth. Better safe than sorry.

And, just an FYI, if the base of the mole is too wide, the string method won't work.

      Good luck!

  4. QUESTION:
Is there anyway to get rid of skin tags besides going to a doctor?
Is there anyway to get rid of skin tags besides going and having them cut off by a doctor? Any home remedies?

  5. QUESTION:
How can I get rid of skin tags, will wart remover work?
I have 3 small skin tags at the bottom of my back, they are starting to rub on my clothes, any way I can get rid of them without surgery? I thought I may be able to freeze them off with wart remover??

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,
A skin tag is a common, benign condition which consists of a bit of skin that projects from the surrounding skin and may appear attached to the skin. Skin tags can vary quite a bit in appearance. They may be smooth or irregular, flesh colored or more deeply pigmented, and either simply be raised above the surrounding skin or have a stalk (a peduncle) so that the skin tag hangs from the skin.
n cases in which a skin tag is irritated or cosmetically unwanted, treatment may be done by freezing the tag with liquid nitrogen, tying off the tag with a thread or suture so as to cut off the blood supply, or cutting off (excising) the tag with a scalpel or scissors.
Please never, never try to remove them youself. Wart remover is the last thing you should do. Visit your doctor who will decide if they can be safely tied off or frozen off.

  8. QUESTION:
How can I get rid of skin tags?
I'm 46 and in the last few years I have gotten more and more skin tags around my neck, in my armpits, and on my abdomen. They are unsightly but not otherwise a problem. What are some easy ways to get rid of them?

    • ANSWER:
I agree with people who have suggested seeing a doctor to have them frozen off.

I had two under my armpits which I shaved off with a razor, it burned a little but not much and they haven't come back. The ones on your armpit you could probably do on your own. However, I had one of the back of my neck that I also cut off with scissors and it hurt terribly. I do NOT recommend cutting off the ones on you abs and neck on your own unless you have a very high pain tolerance. You also might cause yourself scars. (I didn't care about scars when I did mine because it's in an area my hair covers.)

  13. QUESTION:
How to get rid of skin tags on the eyelid?
I need to figure out how to get rid of skin tags the easiest and hopefully most painless way on the eyelid

    • ANSWER:
Wow,Skin tags on the eyelid does not sound pleasant. I had one on my nose before and no matter how many times I got rid of it,it kept coming back. This is going to sound weird, but it worked. I used to tie some cotton string around it,fairly tight and every couple of hours, tie it tighter and tighter and after a while,it would just fall off by itself.
You could try this but I think that would be a little painful, If you go to your doctors,He'll give you something that resembles the stuff your given when you have a wart of some sort, you could use that and it would be painless but probably less effective.

I'm pretty sure if you went to a dermatologist, they would remove it for you though it's not gaurenteed to be painless.

I have a few small skin tags that I want to remove but going to the dermatolgist to get skin tags removed for cosmetic reasons is expensive because insurance does not cover that. What are some effective home redmedies?

    • ANSWER:
If they are small and you are comfortable doing it yourself:
Swab the area with a little Betadine and tie dental floss tightly around the stalk of the skin tag. Trim excess floss. Then put a small spot band aid over the area and wait a week or so. It'll fall off. Very little to no scar.

  29. QUESTION:
how do i get rid of skin tags at home?
I have some under my arms there's 1 small one and then three larger ones. the large ones still aren't very big, probably around 2-3 millimeters. How do i get rid of them?

    • ANSWER:
The first option you have for getting rid of your skin tags is to simply cut them off. It is important to note when doing this that there is a serious risk of infection if you use this method improperly. You should not only use brand new implements for this procedure, but you should also sterilize them first.

You can clean them either by soaking them in a sanitizer (the kind you clean yourself with, not your house) or putting them in fire for a minute or so. Just be sure to let them cool first if you put them in fire. You can clip off the skin tags with small scissors, but you may find it easier to use nail clippers. Simply snip the tag off at the bottom near the healthy skin. This sounds like it hurts a lot, but is generally not too painful. Be sure to have cotton balls or bandages around though, just in case you do bleed some.

Another method for skin tag removal is freezing them off. Doctors often use this method for getting rid of skin tags and warts, but products have come on the market in recent years for doing this at home. Simply find the product at a grocery store and follow the instructions. Because these kits are small and less effective than what a doctor uses, you should probably only consider this method for small tags.

The last home option available for getting rid of skin tags is to cut off their blood supply. This sounds slightly dangerous, but is probably the safest of the home removal options. In this method, you cut off the blood supply to the skin tag by tying string very tightly around the base of the tag.

Depending on the location of your skin tags, you will probably need help tying the string tight enough. Remember to use strong string and to tie it as tightly as possible. You will need to knot the string and keep in on for a few days. After the tag has been cut off from the blood supply, it will eventually die and simply fall off.

While these remedies may be effective for getting rid of skin tags, there are some instances where you should see a doctor instead. There are rare occasions where a skin tag can be malignant, so if you have one dramatically change size or color, you should see a doctor. You should also consult a doctor if anything goes wrong with the removal or if the entire tag doesn't come off. Again, remember to be safe, sterilize, and get someone to help you if you need it.

  30. QUESTION:
What are the ways of getting rid of skin tags?
I have ugly skin tags some quite large on my neck. I really don't like them, and was going to have them burned off at the doctors.

But I'm too scared lol and heard they grow back.

What are my options, if any?

    • ANSWER:
See your doctor. I got some removed and they have not come back. This was like 2 years ago. It is fairly painless. Simple shot to numb the area, feel a little prick, then they cut it, don't feel anything, and then burn the end to seal it up which you can't feel either.

  33. QUESTION:
What is the best method professional method to get rid of skin tags on the face?
I have several black moles on the face that are flush. Is it better to have the surgically or laser removed. Anybody have any experience? Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
I had a few tags removed by my family doctor. He had the laser to do it right. No scars or evidence that they were even there. If your regular doctor can't do it, he can refer you to someone who can. I don't recommend a clinic for facial tag removal.

  34. QUESTION:
How did you get rid of skin tags?
Can I cut them off? Will they come back? Is there an ointment? I just want a cheaper method other then laser.

    • ANSWER:
I have done this twice and it worked both times. You twist the skin tag in one direction until you feel the slightest pinch. Then, put one of those round little band-aids on it, using the sticky side to hold its position, not the gauze stuff. The idea is to cut off the blood supply to the skin tag. Leave it alone for 2-3 days, then simply peel the band-aid off. The skin tag should peel right off with it. It's had no circulation to it and it basically dries up. NOTE: If, after you've placed the band-aid, the area is sore or painful, you've twisted it too much. This process should not hurt at all; you should not feel anything the entire time. Hope it works :)
